Description:

VULTREX™ ROCK DRILL EP000 is a semi-fluid grease, specifically formulated for mist-free operation when used in air-operated rock drills and similar mining equipment. This mode of lubrication has been in use for over 35 years in underground mining operations in several countries of the world. VULTREX™ ROCK DRILL EP000 is a more productive, more environmentally acceptable, cleaner alternative to oil lubrication. This semi-fluid grease meets the specifications of equipment manufacturers such as: Ingersoll-Rand, Worthington, Parts Headquarters Inc., and Joy.

Features & Benefits:

Environmentally acceptable

• Provides a safe and healthier alternative to oil lubrication

• Drills less noisy than when oil lubricated

Cost effective

• Can be applied using existing oil lubricators

• Extends drill component life

• Significantly reduces lubricant consumption (up to 40%)

• Extends drill life

• Drills run cooler than when oil lubricated

• Grease forms an adhesive, protective film which prevents rust and corrosion

• Prevents scoring and minimizes wear

• Protects drill in wet environment

• Extends drill component life up to 20%

Applications:

VULTREX™ ROCK DRILL EP000 is recommended for the lubrication of airoperated rock drills and similar mining equipment used in underground mining. VULTREX™ ROCK DRILL EP000 is used in oil lubricators commonly referred to as the “football” type Venturi lubricators which are fabricated by several manufactures such as Parts Headquarters Inc. who are one of the largest suppliers of this lubricator type in North America. VULTREX™ ROCK DRILL EP000 can be applied easily at fairly low temperatures in the 0 to 5°C/32 to 41°F range but field testing has confirmed it will still flow down to -20°C/-4°F.

It is advisable to manually pre-lubricate a “dry” drill during assembly or maintenance with some of this grease prior to hook-up to the lubricator. In this way, the drill is protected during start-up before grease can reach the drill through lubricator lines.
